I love being part of the moments when things start to make sense.

I’m Romy — a leadership coach based in Wellington, New Zealand, working globally in English and German.

I’ve always been curious about people
and how we work together

A little about what shaped me

Before becoming a coach, I worked in very different places — including the German Parliament, a consultancy where I led teams, and a research centre at the University of Cambridge. I’ve worked with MPs and senior leaders, led people and teams myself, and experienced the joys and challenges of working with people , leading through change and navigating uncertainty.

I’m German and have lived and worked in four countries, with New Zealand being home since 2020. Being part of different cultures and workplaces has taught me to stay curious about how other people see things — and not to assume that my way of seeing something is the only one.

I’m naturally curious about people and their stories. I enjoy conversations that go a little deeper, understanding what matters to someone and those moments when something starts to make sense. I tend to bring warmth, calm and curiosity to the way I work, and I’m much more interested in finding what feels right for the individual than in there being one right way.

Outside of coaching, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, listening to podcasts, reading or getting absorbed in a good TV series. One of my quirks is constantly rearranging my furniture – it always gives me fresh perspectives!
